February storms in Western Europe
Sunday February 9th the storm Ciara with wind speeds between 100 and 120 km/hour pulled over Western Europe. In Scotland and on the North Sea even higher gusts of wind were measured. Fortunately, these enormous gusts of wind did not reach the mainland and the areas with greenhouses. The storm mainly caused damage from fallen trees. Only a few greenhouses suffered glass damage due to the storm. Weather forecast for this weekend is stormy again. Whether this storm (called Dennis) will surpass Ciara is not clear yet. We advise you to pay attention to the weather forecasts and take precaution measures if necessary.
